Some pictures.

I think I need a few more wedding pictures. No? Maybe not then.

 Page 1 on my scrapbook

My definite favorite so far.

I made the dough this morning from my sourdough starter. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Sourdough waffles? Yes, please! I think they might rank as the  best waffles I have ever had.

Mike slept REALLY well last night. :)

Then he stole the camera.

So tired!

I spent most of my day chasing after a one and a half year old little girl, with sometime chasing her older brother (5) thrown in for good measure. While she is a sweetheart, I was definitely glad to leave her to her daddy and come home to my childless house! :) It doesn't help that I didn't have much to do, aside from reading my book. It's rather hard to read when she wants you to chase her and tickle her and all around "play with me!" We had some good times though. Cheerios and string cheese make a yummy snack after going for a walk outside. :)

I have officially started work on my wedding book. I have oh..... 13 pages done I think? The goal is to get it done by the end of this week (or sooner!) so that I can pack up all the scrapbooking stuff and get the office cleaned out. Not to mention, I'd like to reclaim my living room and the dining table for their intended purposes, which is NOT having papers, stickers, pens and miscellaneous other items strewn everywhere. When I get a chance I will take a picture of my favorite pages and show them to you. Or maybe you'll just have to come for a visit! :)

Toodles. Off to waste time on my computer and convince myself to work on my wedding book.

Yum....

Hey everybody.

I got tired of having the same old things for dinner, so I decided it was time for some creativity for dinner last night. We had Indian food! Add some spices, combine the ingredients in a bit different manner, and poof! We had a chicken stir fry thing, rice and dal, and chapatti. Yum. Mike and I've been snacking on the chapatti all day today. I have been saying "that is the best way" all day today. Hehe.

The weather today can't make up its mind whether it wants to be rainy and cold or sunshiney and cool. Since we never finished using our firewood from this winter, my lovely hubby made me a fire which I am currently sitting in front of. I miss my parents fireplace so much!!

It's begun. Mike and I packed our first boxes today. *sigh* I wish I was Mary Poppins and could snap my fingers and have my stuff pack itself. Wouldn't that be nice? Oh well, at least I'm good at it. We've only packed books (and odds and ends to fill the holes) so far. I'm going to have to finish going through things and finish deciding what can be packed now and what needs to be packed later....  I have lots of time though right? We're not headed for the Midwest until July! Which is in.... not very much time. :D

Well, off to my evening activities. The plan is to finish eating my brownies (dessert, yum!), sit in front of the fire, and finish up my scrapbooking so I can clean the table off. It is starting to drive me nuts.

Toodles!

Bits and Pieces

I've spent the time since my last blog playing with the layout and hidden tweaks on my blog. Did you know you can add a tracking program that will tell you how many people visited, where they came from, how long they stayed, etc? It's quite fun to go and look, and try and figure out who each person is based on where in the states the visit arrived from. For instance, Tasha, Malachi and BAK have all visited since the first post. :D Also, no more annoying blogger bar, unless you hover over it and want to use it. : )

I feel as though I should post new blogs all the time, but I really don't think most of you want to hear about how I watched Stargate yesterday.. I suppose I'll wait for more interesting things to say.

My poor husband (not really sure this is more interesting, but oh well) had to clean up after the animals this morning. Our (his?) doggie is sick. What a pleasant surprise to wake up to.

Off to surf the web and then on to projects this afternoon. Hoping to get the books sorted through and get rid of the doubles we have. Fun times!

Sourdough Bread

I decided to try and make sourdough bread. It is something I've wanted to do for a while, but as some of probably know, sourdough requires a starter. A starter is that invaluable mixture of flour and water that has fermented and is used as the rising agent, like yeast or baking soda. Most people get the starter from a friend (Friendship bread anyone?), but I alas, don't know anybody who has some. So... unfortunately for me, I made some from scratch. Add flour and water together and let sit. For days. I'm not that patient! :D Thankfully, my starter began well and didn't grow any nasty bacteria. Of course... after waiting on the starter to ferment, you have to make a sponge! and then make the bread and then let it rise (for almost a whole day) and then finally, after a week's worth of patience, and several floury counters, I got to put the bread in the oven and bake it. It turned out fairly well. A bit heavy, could have used a bit more rising time, but I ran out of (you guessed it) patience! Oh well, It was very yummy, not too sour and definitely amazing with some local honey on it. Anybody else ever tried to make sourdough?

The finished product.

Mike about to enjoy the finished product.

Coming soon!

Look for a new post coming soon. To feature photos, thoughts, and all around randomness from me! : )
